Let’s see what can get accomplished!
It’s time to start, it’s time to start! NaNo has officially began. Yea! I found my ugly totem bracelet from last year, I think after NaNo this year I’m going to redo it. Although, maybe I’ll do it this year when I’m looking for something to distract myself from my writing. I’m way to good at getting sidetracked.
So I’ve decided to try and work on both book ideas that I have. My novel is going to be so by the seat of my pants. The non-fiction book is in the planning stages. There are note cards being assembled. I am hoping that by working on both ideas simultaneously that I’ll actually have more ideas. We’ll see how well that theory works. I am getting excited for November, although I think it has more to do with hanging out in coffee shops with my laptop and iPod.
I’ve been plotting in my head and creating characters for this year’s NaNo only to discover that my plot idea has already started to turn right in New Mexico.
Let’s also not forget the shiney new non-fiction book idea that one of my friends and I are pursuing. *face palm* It’s not even November yet for goodness sake!
I’ve begun the planning stages for NaNo. I’m really good at planning, now if I could just get good at execution. Last year the Series 7 took over, I’m going to strive not to take another FINRA exam this November. November is for NaNo, not FINRA.
I’m excited for NaNo this year. The local group is meeting at a time and day that is more agreeable to my schedule this year. I’m hoping being around other crazies…er creative NaNo types will increase the word count.
I love programming geeks. I’ve moved the writing journal over here to it’s pretty new location. A new blog to play with, this is very exciting.
It’s getting to be that time of year again for NaNo. I fell apart in early November last year. This year I haven’t done as much prep work as I had hoped however there is still time. I’ve got a basic idea of what I want to write. I just need to get it all down.
Today is the first day of NaNo. I have my totem: a bracelet I made that is a complete mish-mash of beads with a small cauldron charm on it for creativity. My boyfriend tells me it is hideous; I think it’s perfect. Afterall, this is supposed to be a messy, creative balls-to-the-wall, get it done project.
It is 4:30 p.m. local time and already I have twice as many words as I did last year. So far my story feels a little cliché but it feels good to be writing. I feel creative, it’s empowering.
NaNo starts in 36 hours. Compared to some of the others I know doing NaNo, I’m not ready. I haven’t worked on plot or characters in a week. The time I thought I’d have to write is quickly disappearing. I may have to spend my morning time exercising my dog who’s been acting out. I must remember, I don’t have to have a plot, I’m just supposed to write, to get the words on paper. Yes, this I can do. I hope.
I didn’t do a bit of NaNo planning this weekend. I’d hope to have a little time but I spent a great deal of time with friends and just having fun. =) I will be spending next weekend with another friend that will be doing NaNo. I’m sure we’ll talk about it some; however I’ll be helping her with her Halloween party. I love this season but it’s almost as busy as summer!
I am worried about losing interest in doing this. It’s still 2 more weeks away. I’m hoping by looking at things NaNo it will keep me pumped for doing this.
